Know symptoms
- Sudden, severe pain in one testicle or scrotum.
- Swelling, redness, and tenderness of affected scrotum.
- Nausea and vomiting accompanying acute testicular pain.
- Testis may appear high-riding or lie transversely.

- Congenital “bell clapper” deformity of the testis.
- Trauma or injury to the scrotal area.
- Vigorous physical activity triggering torsion.
- Sometimes occurs spontaneously without clear trigger.

- Immediate urology referral for urgent assessment and surgery.
- Emergency scrotal exploration is performed with detorsion and fixation (orchidopexy).
- Early intervention within hours preserves testicular viability.
- Avoid delays; prompt action reduces infertility risk.
