Tonsillectomy & Adenoidectomy
About the procedure
Tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the tonsils, while adenoidectomy removes the adenoids. These procedures are commonly performed in children and adults with recurrent throat infections, obstructive sleep apnea, or enlarged tonsils/adenoids causing breathing difficulties. Surgery improves airway function, reduces infections, and alleviates snoring or sleep disturbances. Typically performed under general anaesthesia, the procedures are safe and effective, with post-operative care focusing on pain management, infection prevention, and gradual return to normal diet and activities.
