About the procedure

Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis measures the levels of oxygen (O₂), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and blood pH to assess lung function and acid-base balance. It helps detect respiratory, metabolic, or kidney disorders and guides treatment in critically ill patients. The test is performed by drawing a small amount of blood from an artery, usually the radial artery in the wrist.
