About the Procedure
Nephrostomy tube placement is performed to relieve kidney obstruction by draining urine directly from the kidney. Using imaging guidance, a small tube is inserted through the skin into the kidney to restore urine flow and prevent kidney damage. It is often used when blockage is caused by stones, tumors, or strictures.
