Eligibility
- Patients with urinary frequency, urgency, weak stream, or difficulty starting urination.
- Suspected benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or urethral obstruction.
- Monitoring bladder function in neurological conditions.
- Post-surgical assessment after urinary tract surgery.
- Evaluating effectiveness of medications or treatments for urinary disorders.
Care Before the Procedure
- Do not urinate immediately before the test; arrive with a full bladder.
- Avoid caffeine or diuretics if advised.
- Wear comfortable clothing for easy access.
- Follow any specific instructions from your doctor.
Care During the Procedure
- You will urinate into a special funnel or device connected to a flow meter.
- The device records urine flow rate, volume, and pattern.
- The procedure is non-invasive and painless.
- Multiple attempts may be needed for accurate assessment.
Care After the Procedure
- Resume normal activities immediately.
- Results are analyzed by your doctor to guide treatment.
- No special post-test care is needed unless instructed otherwise.
- Follow-up may be required if abnormal flow patterns are detected.
