Know symptoms
- Painful, tender swelling near the eyelash margin.

- Bacterial infection, primarily Staphylococcus aureus.
- Poor eyelid hygiene and recurrent blepharitis.
- Blockage of eyelid oil glands leading to infection.
- Local trauma or rubbing of the eyelids.
Care
- Apply warm compresses several times daily to promote drainage.
- Maintain proper eyelid hygiene and avoid touching the eye.
- Use prescribed antibiotic ointments for active infection.
- Seek medical attention if swelling persists or worsens.
